Short Poems (By William)

#1
Here Lies Doctor Lee,
Spent six months under the sea.
He got stung by a jellyfish.
If only he had another wish.
#2
Here Lies Tom Slum,
Was always glum.
He banged his head on a drum,
just as he was eating a plum.
#3
Here Lies Rebecca Spang,
Thought she was too young to hang.
But she had committed a crime,
Ah, life is but a dime.

Trust

If trust were a color,

It would be blue.

As serene and serious as the sky.

If trust were a taste,

It would be just like a bittersweet grapefruit which tingles your lips after eating it.

If trust were a feeling,

It would be as controversial as joy and pain mixed together.

If trust were a smell,

It would be as aromatic as rotisserie chicken.

If trust were a sound,

It would be as soothing as Chopin music.

Ode to Musicians (By William)

When musicians create sound,
Where are their thoughts to be found?
It’s amazing how music flows,
And it also makes people doze.
As their fingers glide across piano keys,
It has enough power for even the toughest to cry and fall on their knees.
Bows sweep over string,
Makes you feel like a king.
Now listen to them sing,
It brings upon us the spring.
Musicians don’t know all,
But once they stand, they don’t fall.
For one, they study the book,
A place where not everyone will look.
Then they write song,
Which lasts for long.
Our lives we must cherish,
As we will all perish.
Music is world-wide,
So if you have a wish for it, don’t hide.

About Me (By William)

I am curious and empathetic.

I wonder what the world will be like in 3000.

I hear books reading their secrets to me.

I see the music notes dancing around.

I want to fly like a bird and soar over the continents and seas.

I am curious and empathetic.

I pretend to be an astronaut venturing in deep space.

I feel the weight that classical composers put on me to play the piano well.

I touch a futuristic hologram of the body’s organ systems and the robots deployed in each one.

I worry about the misuse of firearms all across the globe.

I cry about the devastation that we humans have put upon our own planet.

I am curious and empathetic.

I understand how to make people feel good about themselves.

I say everybody should get a standing ovation at least once to enrichen and encourage.

I dream of being a good storyteller so I can make people laugh and cry.

I try to provide help when it is needed.

I hope to be a pediatrician and have a loving family someday.

I am curious and empathetic.
