Chores or No Chores (by William)

It has been half a year since the beginning of 2017, and I have learned to do lots of chores.  I think all kids should do cores because most of them are enjoyable and doable.

Helping mom cook is always a pleasure.  My creations include Sticky White Rice.  Wow, is it delicious!  I add one cup regular rice and one cup sticky rice to the pot, add water, then put the pot into the cooker and start cooking.  I also had the experience of cracking an egg too hard.  The raw egg yolk and white splatting all over one side of the kitchen cabinet.  Mom and I laughed when we saw the yolk and white dripping down to the floor.

I like to sing while splashing dirty plates with fresh cool water.  I find washing the dishes refreshing, enjoyable, and quite doable for kids five years and older.

Whirr!  Whirr!  Whirr!  I love to watch the washing machine fill up with water and the clothes spinning round and round.  All you need to do is to load a basket of clothes in similar colors to the washer, turn the machine on and pour some detergent in.  It is not hard at all.

Folding Laundry can be Fun
I also learned to mop the floor.  You could get very sweaty and might think it’s boring, but at least the job is workable.

I think all kids should do chores since we are part of our families.  Helping out to clean up the house can benefit everyone in the family.  Chores are also opportunities to let kids experience new things.  As Shakira in Zootopia sang “I won’t give up, no I won’t give in, till I’ll reach the end and then I’ll start again.  Though I’m in the lead, I wanna try everything even if I could fail…”
