One of my favorite places is the San
Clemente beach. When I first saw the
beach, I was filled with excitement. The
beach had big waves crashing on the sand.
San Clemente is the southernmost city in Orange County which makes it
the borderline of Orange County and San Diego County.
When I was at the beach, I helped other
kids fish. I watched two brothers, Lex
and Preston fish with their dad. After
watching them pulling one mackerel after another out of the ocean, I said “Wow
you guys are quite lucky today.” Preston
replied “Yes I guess we are. When we
catch more than 5 our mom says Holy mackerel!”
It was Lex’s tenth birthday. They
caught about 30 mackerel before we left the pier, and I am guessing they may
have caught about 50 mackerel at the end of the day.
A great day for fishing |
Another thing I did at the beach was chasing waves. The first time I chased waves, I was frightened because the waves were so powerful. As I got used to it, I actually started to like chasing waves. I got sands stuck on my feet and legs, and they look like the seeds on everything bagels.

The San Clemente beach is on one side of the Pacific Ocean while on the other side, there is Asia, my dad and mom’s birth place. 30 years ago, my dad and mom were kids and they played on the opposite side of the San Clemente beach. 30 years later, I am chasing waves in San Clemente. I might even ask the ocean if it remembers how my dad and mom looked like when they were kids.
The San Clemente beach is one of my
favorite places, and I am definitely in love with it!

ReplyDeleteI am wondering how your Mum and Dad were 30 years ago at the opposite side of beach. My memory goes back when Summer Mama 30 years ago playing at her mother's childhood town little sandy beach with her younger sister and siblings. That was also most fun time of all!
