Rio 3: Blu’s Trip around the World - Part 4 (Written and posted by William)

So there they were in Fairview, Pennsylvania.  A few days before, Blu and his family evacuated from Norman, Oklahoma to Fairview, Pennsylvania from a massive EF-5 tornado.

Jewel spotted something round and flew down to see, she immediately flew up again.  “That’s not a Brazil nut.”  Just then, Bia saw something swimming in Lake Erie.  “Fish!” shrieked Blu excitedly.  He swooped down to claim his prize.  In a few minutes or so, Blu and his family were feasting.

A few minutes later, Kevin walked out his door and saw Blu and his family.  He took photos and notes about the Blue Spix Macaw family and even threw them a few Brazil nuts.

With all the happiness going on, Kevin’s older brother (a hunter), stepped outside.  Kevin’s skin turned pale.  Kevin’s brother spotted them and threw a net up.  All Kevin could come up with was “No.”  Blu and his family few away just in time.  They took no chances in America anymore so Blu said, “Let’s go to Canada.”

A few days later, they perched on top of Duo Duo’s house in Toronto, Canada.  They could rest just for now…

The Habit Burger Grill (by William on 6/23/2016)

Note: This blog is typed, edited, and posted by William.

Today I did my first restaurant review for Habit Burger Grill on Yelp!  I like Habit, so I did a lot of research on it and I’m going to share my knowledge.

The Habit started in 1969 as a Mom and Pop restaurant and it expanded.  Now it’s a publicly traded restaurant.  There are about 140 Habit restaurants in the U.S.A.  The Habit is locate in states such as California, Nevada, and Arizona.

The reason that I like the Habit is because of the environment and the food.

When you walk in, you might notice fresh flowers to make the environment of the restaurant better.  Also, there are 3 kinds of chairs: high chairs, regular chairs, and booths.

The food in Habit is great, all the ingredients are fresh.  The meat is juicy and the vegetables are crunchy.  There’s a lot you can order in Habit, from charburgers to salads.  I like to order a cheese charburger no pickles, no mayo, with a side of French fries.

I like the Habit and I will persuade my mom to take me there tonight or tomorrow.

One of My Favorite Places (by William)

One of my favorite places is the San Clemente beach.  When I first saw the beach, I was filled with excitement.  The beach had big waves crashing on the sand.  San Clemente is the southernmost city in Orange County which makes it the borderline of Orange County and San Diego County.

When I was at the beach, I helped other kids fish.  I watched two brothers, Lex and Preston fish with their dad.  After watching them pulling one mackerel after another out of the ocean, I said “Wow you guys are quite lucky today.”  Preston replied “Yes I guess we are.  When we catch more than 5 our mom says Holy mackerel!”  It was Lex’s tenth birthday.  They caught about 30 mackerel before we left the pier, and I am guessing they may have caught about 50 mackerel at the end of the day.

A great day for fishing

Another thing I did at the beach was chasing waves.  The first time I chased waves, I was frightened because the waves were so powerful.  As I got used to it, I actually started to like chasing waves.  I got sands stuck on my feet and legs, and they look like the seeds on everything bagels.

The waves are powerful

Sands on my feet look like seeds on everything bagels

The San Clemente beach is on one side of the Pacific Ocean while on the other side, there is Asia, my dad and mom’s birth place.  30 years ago, my dad and mom were kids and they played on the opposite side of the San Clemente beach.  30 years later, I am chasing waves in San Clemente.  I might even ask the ocean if it remembers how my dad and mom looked like when they were kids.

The San Clemente beach is one of my favorite places, and I am definitely in love with it!
